Clayton, Lucinda and Alex all traveled to Hunters Equestrian Centre to compete in the pre-Olympic Dressage test day. Several Olympic team members and Elite squad members from many nations were competing trying to Prepare, Practice and Perfect for the up and coming Olympics in Hong Kong. The Olympic specific test has all the normal movements of the four star tests, but has condensed them into a 5 minute test to allow for the timing at the Olympics.
In August, due to the humid conditions expected in Hong Kong, it is planned that the competition times will be at each end of the day to allow for a large gap in the hottest times.
Starting with a warm up class, Clayton on Ben Along Time, Cinda on Headley Britannia performed the 3*** test A. Headley Britannia narrowly slid in front of Ben Along time to win this test.
Next was the 4**** Olympic test along with Alex riding FBW Chico and Jeans. Ben Along Time was a star with a winning score of 74.9% with Headley Britannia also with her usual high class performance receiving a 72.1% ahead of William Fox Pitt on 70.6 and Alex on FWB Chico producing a fantastic 70.4 in his first try at the 4**** level.
