Ben Along Time, Headley Britannia, Lucinda & I left Rosegarth at 4.30am, 30th July heading for Stanstead Airport in convoy with Team China and the Japanese rider Yoshiro Oiwa.
All the horses left looking very perky, fit and well, along with Lisa Baker, my groom and Graham Potts our Australian Vet. We had the feeling the horses sensed something big is about to happen, but little do they know they will be on a plane for about 20 hours!
Lucinda, Kate Hort, Lucinda’s groom and I along with Rob Hanna the Australian Chef de quip will continue on to Heathrow for our flight to Hong Kong.
Lucinda & I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone - from our supporters, owners, grooms, working pupils, family, friends and of course our wonderful mounts Ben Along Time and Headley Britannia. Without the support of all of you, we would not be competing at the 2008 Olympic Games - you are all part of "Team Fredericks".
We would also like to add thanks to The Equestrian Federation Of Australia, The Australian Sports Commisssion and Western Australian Institute of Sport.
So Lucinda and I wish to personally thank you all so very much. We will be doing the very best for our country and to reach our own ultimate performance.
- Cheers Clayton
